My cousins Kids

My Question is My cousin is a low life has custody of his 3 kids (ages 7,5,3) there mother didnt want them Now hes in jail the local sheriff brought the children to my sisters home and she has her hands tied raising her grand children can I step in and take the kids in my home in IL the children are in Ind.we want the children to stay together in a real home and not seperated or foster care out side of our family?

The quickest way to handle this is to obtain a guardianship. Preferably with the mother and father consenting. Otherwise, a temprary guardianship on an emergency basis until full guardianship can be determined.
