Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

Who has custody and can make the decisions

I have a 2 y/o grandson who lives with his maternal grandmother, her sister, and their 81 year old mother (who has the only income in the household). His mother lives nearby but only visits occasionally. His father, my son, lives about a four hour drive away. No courts have determined legal custody. His mother abruptly left our area with him in Sept of 05 but deposited him. He is deeply loved and cared for but those ladies refuse to allow us to see him....they intensely dislike our son. Our son and the childs mother are not and have never been married.

We can provide a wonderful home for him and medical insurance and a future. We hold his savings account and his only life insurance policy.

He lives in a welfare/foodstamp household. He was given our last name when we was born.

I want to pursue custody, but do not know where to start. He is not in any danger, but he simly has no future with these people, other than more welfare and growing up in a lifestyle of poverty.

Re: Who has custody and can make the decisions

You need to hire an attorney to seek custody of your grandson or to have your son seek custody.
