On custody papers that are drawn up do all parties have to sign the papers in front of a notary public for the papers to be legal and binding?

Re: Custody
Apparently you are not using an attorney as custody papers generally do not have to be signed in front of a notary. However, if you do not have an attorney it might be best to sign in front of a notary.
