Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana
Custody
My ex wife had sole custody of my son who's 15yrs and a few months ago i found out that due to conflicts that he and his mother were having ''Example - He threw a sock at her'' she had him arrested several times for, i found out after the fact, the 6 months ago she turned custody of him over to the state, i never recieved and papers and did not know this was happening, now he has been placed out of state in a boys school and in the last hearing was ordered to stay there 6 more months. How do i go about getting custody? I make to much money to get legal aid and i don't make enough to pay the cost of an attorney. Are there any forms i can modify and file myself? I am extremely worried because that are forcing him to take medication for ADHD and it is having adverse affects on him.

Re: Custody
You can go to a law library to find what the format of a petition looks like; you can write a letter to the judge of the Court where you were divorced and explain the situation of your son and request custody; or you can contact the Court or caseworker for your son's case that caused him to be placed out of state and attend the next hearing in that court and request permission to address the Court for the purpose of finding out why you have been kept out of the loop in this situation and what you can do to receive custody.
