Daughter getting Married
My daughter is getting married in the next few weeks and i have filed papers with the court for an emancipation but my court date is 2 months after the wedding. Do i still have to pay child support till the court date or can i stop paying after the marriage. She is 20 years old.

Re: Daughter getting Married
Technically, you are responsible for child support until a court order says you are not, although the order will be retroactive to the date of emancipation. In other words, even though the court date is two months later, the court will look at the date of marriage as the date of emancipation and should order the custodial parent to pay back overpayments. How about asking your ex spouse for an agreed order if you are not in arrears? This seems more practical if you ask me.
