Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

we have had our daughter since she was about month old and she is now 19 months old my son wife lefted him and the baby in may 2010 for another man she even lefted a note saying she was leaving she didnt see the baby for 2 months and she hardly ever comes to the house to see her yet ,maybe she see her twice a month the baby doesnt even know her she calls me mom and my husband da we want to get full custoy of her and can i still get her for abandonment my son gave me temporary custody when he was in jail and we still have her can u help me with some answer
