Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana
My daughter is 18. She is pregnant by a 17 yr old boy. First can she get in trouble for this? Second is there a way he can see the baby even if his mom does not want him to? Is there anything we can do to get his mom to leave my daughter alone? She says things like she is going to take her to court for being unfit (which first the baby is not born, second she has done everything she can to insure a healthy baby), that she will see to it that her son never sees the baby or ever has to pay support. She has also stated that my daughter's father(convicted sex offender) will never see the baby. Her last statement was that she hopes she looses the baby. I believe she is trying to cause my daughter to have a miscarriage.

Without knowing the specifics of how old they were when conception took place, or how long they were going out, I cannot give you an accurate answer as to whether she can get into trouble. I don't know how his mom could prevent him from seeing the child. I assume that he will be 18 relatively soon so his mom's control will be relatively short-lived.
You may want to have a lawyer send a cease and desist order to her about her threats, etc.
The son will have to pay support whether his mother likes it or not. Perhaps your daughter should just not have any contact with the lady until her pregnancy is over.
