Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

I am not with my daughters father anylonger but I gave her his last name. We were never married but he signed the birth certificate can I go and have her last name changed to mine?

He has the right to object. He must get notice. The judge will decide if the change is needed and in the child's best interest.

Only if the father does not object. If he does, then there will have to be a hearing and a judge will decide.
