Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana
My daughters mother passed away earlier this month. I want to assert my parental rights and assume custody of her. Herb maternal grandmother, whom resides in California, wants to gain guardianship and take her back to California with her. what legal rights do I have and can she keep my daughter away from me now?

Generally speaking, you have the rights now. However, the grandmother can certainly attempt to obtai a guardianship. You should contact an attorney asap.
