Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

Deliquent Child Support

I went through a divorce that was filed in Indiana. I have now remarried and have moved with the two children to Virginia. My ex is $10,000 behind in child support and has left the country, he doesn't contact the children. Supposedly he was in the Army Reserves but through searching I find out he is in the IRR which he is only on standby and pulls no duty time in which support has now stopped completely. Even when we was in the reserves support was very irregular if at all. Since the military has his domicile as Indiana whose laws do I follow, Indiana or VA? I cannot find someone to help me find him but can his parental rights be taken away?

Re: Deliquent Child Support

The original court retains jurisdiction, and since he is domiciled in Indiana, you would want to pursue this through the Indiana courts.

I would suggest that you hold him to the fire and not let him get away with this.

We hate deadbeats here in Indiana and can make his life a living hell for not paying.
