Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

Dissolution of Marriage and Real Estate Title

I am looking at a Divorce situation. I owned a home before I was married. My wifes name was never added to the title. She also never fully lived in the house as she kept an apartment close to where her kids live. We have been married less than a year. Is the property a marriage asset? How should it be handled in the divorce?

Thanks

Re: Dissolution of Marriage and Real Estate Title

Technically, it is a marriage asset. However, it is likely that a court would not consider as an asset based on the facts that you provided.
