We have decided on joint custody. does one of us have to clain sole physical and then both legal or can we bot get physical and legal custody. If we can does that mean I can never move out of state?

Depending on the circumstanced there can be joint physical custody. Joint physical custody would become problematic if you ever moved a distance away, whether out of state or not. You would have to follow the relocation procedure set forth in the Indiana Code.
