My wife has filed for divorce and we are buying our home on contract from HER parents. We put our own money down and have added home improvements. Will the property be divided as if we had a regular mortgage? I want my share since I put in money as well.

You are entitled to 1/2 of the equity. However, the real question is where will the money come from to pay you that equity? You may have to sell the house, or have your wife finance the home and recieve a deed at the sale with a payoff to you at closing. You need to hire an attorney!
