Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

Do-it-yourself divorce---serving papers

I just filed for divorce in Lake County, Indiana. I'm doing the divorce without a lawyer (no kids or assets). I'm wondering what will happen if my husband refuses to sign the certified letter, or does not pick it up at the post office. Does the court notify me of this? I can still get my divorce, because it just means he will be a no-show at the hearing, correct? Any help is appreciated.

Re: Do-it-yourself divorce---serving papers

The court will not notify you, you will ahve to contact the court ahead of time. If he is not served with the papers, you will not be able to proceed.
