Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

Due to the original support order 10 years ago my son's pay is still be garnished for child support. His daughter is 22, will be 23 in Mr., graduated in may from college, is working full time, lives with her boy friend and is buying a house. He went to the court and they said he would have to get an attorney which he cannot afford. How can he get this stopped on his own or can he? His ex wife is receiving the money and will not do anything to stop support. She said it is his problem. Can he get support paid since May.

Can't tell from the facts whether he is still delinquent in support or not. If an attorney will cost $750, and his support for the next year is $5,000, he can afford an attorney, or can't afford NOT to hire one.

There is a self help center at www.in.gov that may work for terminating child support if he is not in arrears. Otherwise, Jay is correct. Hire counsel, your son will save far more than the expense.
