Re: emanciaption requirements

A person under the age of 18 cannot seek to be emancipated just to go reside with a boyfriend or girlfriend or merely to have permission to date a particular person. To even consider becoming emancipated, one must have a plan of how one is to support one's self, how one will be educated and where one will live independently of others. This is not something that occurs even when a child has been removed from his or her parents.
