Enforcing an order

i have contacted the Prosecutor and am getting help from them to encorce the support (ex didnt show..bench warrant issued). However, I am wondering how I can get the other terms of the order enforced. Ex was to get and maintain a life insurance policy. He does not exercise visitation and is frequently in trouble with the law. Would it be wise to terminate his parental rights? What court hears these issues? thanks

Re: Enforcing an order

To enforce terms of a decree beyond the basic support obligation and proof of insurance, you must hire your own attorney or file your own petition, as the Prosecutor will not assist in these endeavors. You cannot terminate the other parent's rights. There is no provision in the statutes for a parent to do so (the state may do so following a CHINS or delinquency hearing). If you remarry, the step-parent can seek to adopt the child and thereby terminate the non-custodial parent's rights.
