establishing paternity
my husband has a 14yr old daughter that he has not seen since she was a baby. his name is not on birth cert. and no paternity test ever done. Both were teenagers at the time and the maternal grandmother took over everything and the child has always lived in her home. The child's mother is there only part of the time and has no job. The child has now contacted us and wants visitation with her father. He has never paid support and was threatened by the grandparents to never come around. We want to be part of the child's life;what do we do now?? (the grandparents are not listed as her legal guardians, but they provide 100% for her and the child's mother won't return calls)

Your husband needs to file a paternity case to establish his paretning rights. Keep in mind that there may be substantial back child support.
