Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

Ex-wife using same attorney for collecting shild support as I used for Grandmoth

Is it a conflict of interest for my ex-wife to use the same legal counsel to try and collect a very small amount of child support as the same attorney that executed my Grandmothers estate? wouldn't the legal counsel have financial information that would make this unethical? The opposing counsel is also a former close friend. Please advise! Court on Friday!

Hi, there. I would say that there is not a conflict of interest in this situation.

You weren't a party in the grandmother's estate administration, and that information would be public record anyway.

As to the former friendship, that won't create a conflict either.

Good luck with your hearing. Let me know if you have other questions.
