Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

if a father who is not married to his daughters mother has paid support to her for 18 yrs. his daughter will be 19 next month. she was born out of wedlock when father and mother were in high school. if daughter at age 18 says she wants to live with her father now. and the father has gone to a lawyer to have support dropped effective when she moves in. is it the law that the mother pay him support till the child is 21 since she is going to college in the fall?

Support obligations last until age 21 in Indiana. It does not sound like any of the grounds for emancipation before that age exist, as she is going to school. Yes, child support can be ordered for the noncustodial parent, in your case, the mother.

Yes. She may also be responsible for a share of the college expenses.
