Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

Filing Adoption while visitation petition filed

My ex-husband, who is not the natural father of my son, is going to file petition for visitation in juvenile court. My current husband and I are going to file an adoption petition. The first petition my ex filed was thrown out of court d/t jurisdiction issues and I didn't file the adoption then, but we are going to now. What are the chances the court still might grant my ex-husband visitation rights? My ex and I were only together 2 yrs but I did allow some visitation after the divorce. I stopped the visitation about 9 months ago after my husband and I discussed the adoption.

Re: Filing Adoption while visitation petition filed

The court will determine whether it is in the child's best interest that your ex husband have visitation. A lawyer will need many more facts to give you an opinion.
