Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

filing for divorce

My ''wife'' and kids live in Indiana. After we separated about a year ago I moved to Kentucky. I was needing to know where I needed to file for divorce at.

You can file for divorce in either state, but Indiana has jurisdiction over the children and any property there.

I do not know what the laws are in KY. However, as long as one of the parties has lived in INdiana for 6 months and their county for 3 months, a divorce can be filed in Indiana.
