Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

A friend asked me to keep her son for a couple of weeks while she gets herself together. It has now been six months and now I have her daughter also. I have had her daughter for two months now. The dad is in jail, they were never married and no support has been filed for. She wants me to continue to keep them. If the dad gets out of jail and wants his children, do I give them to him?

If the father has established legal paternity and wants them, absent any kind of any prior order regarding the father, he is entitled to them. You should see a local attorney to discuss the situation more fully.
