Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana
I have a friend living in Florida that has temporary guardianship of her two grandchildren. This is a little unusual because her biological son has two children with her adopted daughter. The court took the children away after a baby died in their home at the hands of the baby's mother who was living there also. There was history there prior to that also. My question is, my friends husband told her that if they adopt the children, they have to let the parents of the children live there also but if they only get permanent guardianship, then they do not have to give the parents a home. I work in law in Indiana and that seems absolutely false. I think my friends husband, who is a control freak and tells her anything which she believes, is just telling her that, for what reason I haven't quite figured out yet. Anyway, he say's that is the law in Florida so I am curious about the answer. Thank you.
