Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana
I have an ex girlfriend from 25 yrs ago that said I fathered a child with her. We lived together on and off during those years and I always supported them. I dont remember ever signing a birth certificate and I didnt ever attend a court hearing saying she was my child. Three years ago, "our" daughter was killed in a car accident at the age of 20. I moved on and have since married. Now "mom" is now getting child support out of my paycheck for a child that I am not even sure was mine that is deceased. "Niki" would never have allowed her mother to do this and I only believe she is doing it out of revenge since I didnt stay with her. She has a long criminal history and a history of mental illness. Can I somehow show that I shouldnt have to pay child support now just out of her spite and jealousy?
Thank you for any advice.

Spite and jealousy are not defenses to child support obligations.
You need to hire an attorney to fully investigate the situation to determine whether you were ever established as the father.
