Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana
Grand-daughter
I have a grand-daughter I have almost raised. She is 9. My daughter was leaving her in the middle of the night, with a male roomate, and he would get my grand-daughter ready for school the next day, lie to me that my daughter was there, when she was really out of town with another male doing drugs. He got raided. I'm not sure if she was there or not. But it mentioned a woman like her from my town. My grand-daughter missed 5 weeks of school the first semester. The teachers all knew about my daughter, and they loved my grand-daughter. When it was time for a conference concerning her, being held back, at the last minute my daughter said she wasn't going. So my husband and I went, talked to all of them, teachers, principal, and others. We decided it was in the best interest to hold her back. She's legally blind in one eye, and was born without a thyroid. They told me, thank God, my grand-daughter had us. It's been a continuous battle for us, trying to get my daughter off of drugs. Now she has moved away, and I am sick. My grand-daughter wants me to see a lawyer and keep her. Trust me when I say we have enough evidence, with her and drugs. What are my chances. Like I said, my husband and I have almost raised her. Please respond.
