Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

My grandparents put a protection order on my boyfriend. So he can not see me or our son. They want to get the 2 year, but ill be 18 in 6 months. I dont want this, hes a good day. Me and him are just filled with stress because of our parents. We go to court next week. Can i tell the judge i dont want it, or is it just up to them beacause i'm only 17.
