What are the grandparents rights in Indiana regarding visitation with grandchildren?

Grandparents can request them. If the court finds visitation is in the best interests of the child sufficient to overcome the wishes of the parent, the court can grant visitation. There is no set schedule.

Visitation may be granted if either the child's parent is deceased, the parents'marriage has been dissolved in Indiana, or if the child was born out of wedlock. However, the paternal grandparents of a child born out of wedlock can only obtain visitation if the child's father legally established paternity.
