Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

Grandparents Rights

My sister and I have the same father but different mothers. both her parents are deceased. We had a good relationship until she recently filed for divorce. Because we love our soon to be brother in law, she has decided the children are not to have contact with us at all. We don't understand why but. Can I file for once a month visitation with her two daughters and one son. The girls are 16 and 17 and the boy is 9. The children are not allowed to speak to anyone and my nephew is starting fights in school now. These kids need help. It's like they have become prisoners in their home.

Re: Grandparents Rights

You do not have grandparent's rights. Indiana does recognize a third party's right to seek custody. This would be a longshot for you, but might be the only way to have any leverage to negotiate visitation. You need to see an attorney. This forum is insufficent for this type of situation.
