Can a grown child collect child support owed to them from a parent who never paid as they grew up? Is it too late? They never knew how to get in touch with their parent until they were into the late teens. She never pursued any kind of back child support but did have contact and had meetings. Is there a certain amount of time one can recoup any child support owed them?

The support is owed to the custodial parent, not to the child. Conceivably the custodial parent can assign the rights to collect back support to anyone, including the child (assuming the child is now over 18). There is a 15 year statute of limitations on each payment of support. For example, the payment due March 31, 1993 must be sued upon to collect by March 31, 2008, and so on.
