The courts and Indiana public policy favor a relationship between a non-custodial parent and

a child. That is why there are the Indiana Parenting Time Guidelines. However, they are just guidelines and the courts will take extenuating circumstances into account, balancing the safety and wellbeing of the child in the context of the public policy and the extenuating circumstances. If the present order allows for Guideline Parenting Time or more, you should hire an attorney and seek a modification.

Good luck.
