i have a friend that lives in indiana he bought his home in may of 2006 he got married in june or july of 2006 after 6 months of marriage his wife walked out filed for a divorce and is seeking that the house be slpit between them the house was bought befor ethey were married and her name is not on any of the paper work she also went in to the bank account and took out over 30,000 dollars with out him knowing and took the car that was bought in cash does she have any ties to that house when they go to court and how do you hav eto be married in the state of indiana to be able to claim anything

There is a presumption in Indiana that all property owned during a marriage is to be split on a 50/50 basis. This presumption can be rebutted. Your friend needs to see an Indiana attorney immediately.
