Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

My husband was just served a support order and he lost his job last year. He is also a disabled veteran. So he gets his disability, guard pay, gi bill and unemployment. Are all of these used as income? Also, the lawyer told him to hold his tax check but technically half is mine. Should I wait until he goes to court to take my half or could I take it now?
