Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

In my husbannd's mother's trust (of which my husband is trustee) his two sister's sections state that their percent will go to their children and step children if the sisters die first. But my husband's section reads his percent shall go to his descendants per stirpes. What is the difference ?

The difference is probably due to yoiur sisters having step children as per stirpes allows for a dead heirs shares to go automatically to heit surviving descendants. Step children are not descnendents.
