iam a disabled fourty year old woman,my husband and i have seperated and are planing a divorce.he is taking all the money,iam going to lose my home! iam to have a major surgery soon and i need to keep the insurence.i need to know if i can get allimony from him,i need to have meds in order to live.we have been married for about seventeen years.i need help and i need to know what i can do!!!

you should promptly obtain a reputable lawyer in the county where the two of you reside. once a divorce is filed the court will enter a temporary order which will govern keeping the status quo re bills, who lives in the home, support, etc.. there are provisions in the law that if you are incapable of working you may be able to receive maintenance for a period of time. however your divorce lawyer is your best souce of info. word of mouth is the best source to find one. also the local county bar association would have a referral service. i am unfamiliar with your area code but you are welcome to call one of our divorce lawyers, nicole keith or adam sedia, for a recommendation in your area and they should be able to answer whatever questions you have. good luck.
