Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

The Indiana child support guidelines are confusing. Can we emancipate my ex's 21 year old even tho he is still in college? He is paying via loans, no direct private pay. We've heard yes on this topic and no on this topic. His mother pays for nothing he purchases or needs i.e. car insurance, etc. She is selling her home via short-sale, lives with a boyfriend 25 miles away and the 21 year old is left to himself in the home being sold (although we realize he is an adult). He will have nowhere to live when the house sells and will live with us to have a roof over his head. (He wishes NOT to live with his mom and boyfriend) Yes emancipate, no emancipate? Help!

It is best to obtain an order of emancipation at age 21. However, if there is already a court order that ordered contribution toward college expenses, that would continue if the child is attending school full time.
