Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana
Indiana resident in Maine needs help!
My fiance recently moved from Indiana to Maine. He didnt pay child support for approximently 4 months due to the move and lack of employment. He just received an Order to Appear in an Indiana court. He had started paying support again just prior to receiving the order. If he takes time off from work to go he will lose his employment, which is hard to come by here. 1} Can he participate telephonically? 2}Can he beat the contemt charge and not do jail time? 3}How does he find legal representaion in Indiana? no one is calling us back! 4}He has been paying support on 11 year old twin girls but has never been allowed to be a Dad and has never felt confident that they are truely his. How can he find out for sure if he is their Father? Please Please help us! Thank you

Re: Indiana resident in Maine needs help!
He needs to obtain a lawyer immediately to appear for him in the contempt proceedings and it is possible that the attorney can get the contempt citation dismissed, particulary in light of his paying support. In addition, he needs to file a contempt citation for her refusal to allow visitation and to establish his rights in light of his move out of state.
Tell him not to delay as things will only worsen.
