I want to know information on emancipation

I would like to know what you have to do to get emancipated. Cause i would like to be emancipated. I have to find information on it first and show them to my gradenan so she can read over them and we both have no clue how to go though with something like this.

Re: I want to know information on emancipation

The first step toward emancipation is to reach your 18th birthday. On that day a child becomes an adult for all purposes in Indiana. The only way a child can be emancipated before that age is to either get married (assuming your parent or guardian consents), enter the military service (assuming the service will take a person not yet 18) or to be adjudicated a CHINS or Deliquent Child and have the juvenile court enter an order emancipating you after a plan of emancipation is proposed and accepted. The last option is only used in very rare circumstances.
