Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

Is It Right?

Can a judge suspend visitation for a father after talking to the children, even though the father has done nothing wrong. The children even said the father has not hurt them, they just dont want to be around him. The mother was ordered by the judge to take the children to counseling and as of this day they have been to one appointment. So I guess the question is, is it fair to the father to have to go without seeing his children for a yet to be determined time and have the relationship with his children get further away from where it was.

Re: Is It Right?

Yes, a judge can do so. It is not a question of what is fair to the father. The judge is required to do what he feels is in the best interest of the children.
