Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

Jurisdiction of case

I got divorced in Colorado and my noncustodial son has lived in Indiana for 9 years. I am moving to Indiana to increase my visitation time with him since he will be in high school, I want to modify parenting time and change juridiction. Can I immediately have jurisdiction moved to Indiana or do I have to wait to establish my residency in Indiana?

Re: Jurisdiction of case

Unless your ex consents, your best bet would be to file upon your move.
