Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

a lady told me a few years ago her 2 year old could possibly be mine, she said she was filing for a paternity test.... i waited and never recieved anything in the mail or waas ever served papers!!! in 7 months after her first telling me a letter was sent to my dads house stating i owed child support... apparently they had my dads addy as mine, and i wasnt notified of the court date, that i obvioulsy missed. i called the prosecuters office numerous times each time they say i need a lawyer.. im not working how can i resolve this problem

Get a job and get a lawyer. You may have grounds to present to the court to excuse your failure to appear, but there is no way to do this with any likelihood at all of success without legal representation. If you want to get out of 21 years of child support because the child is not yours, you need to come up with some money now to do so. I'm sorry, but that's just the way it is.

I agree with Jay, you need a lawyer to at least assist you in determining whether the child is yours. Perhaps your father can assist you financially.
