Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

Lawyer malpractice

I am looking for an attorney to help me sue another attorney on a contingency basis. I hired an attorney to handle a contempt order against my ex. It was very black and white. The attorney failed to file items in a timely fashion, lied to me on three occassions about what had been filed, lied about court dates, won't return calls or e-mails. Just blames it on his secretary. I have copies of all e-mails and texts. Plus letters to him complaining about what was going on and his answers. All were lies. Now I've lost in court and he won't return my calls.

Re: Lawyer malpractice

It is very rare that an attorney will take a family law malpractice case on a contingency basis. Malpractice cases are very work intensive and your damages have to be substantial to warrant the investment of time. Also, in most instances you have to hire an expert to testify about the malpractice so such cases are quite expensive.
