Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana
Lawyer malpractie
After the two and half years of fighting my ex to provide proper information about eight businesses he owned, when we finally got to the week of court date, there were alot of offers that went back-n-forth. Approximately 18, all on a spreadsheet with value and then my column and my ex column. Each proposal was five pages. Somewhere in the middle of changing who's column the value was assigned to, the numbers got changed. For instance, one business was valued at $232,000.00 But the morning of court, the spreadsheet that was submitted by my attorney valued that business was only valued at $32,000.00. I know it was confusing but the mistake only got found a year later. Now I've been told i can't go back on a motion of errors. Is this a loss I can hold my attorney responsible for?

There is a possibility that there was malpractice. You really need to obtain an appointment with an attorney for a consultation and bring the documentation with you, along with a written chronology of exactly what happened and when.
