Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

Legal guardianship

I am looking into legal guardianship of my son so he can live with my parents to avoid switching schools. I want to know what is involved and what fees could be. Lawyers in my area don't seem to get into this type of legal action and my main concern is I can't afford it. Any ideas? I have looked into those do-it-yourself forms and either I can't find anything on do it yourself forms for this legal action or such legal forms are not accepted in Indiana. Any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated!

Re: Legal guardianship

The court cost is about $131. Fees should range from $250 to $750. There are standard forms for attorneys to use that nearly every attorney is acquainted with. Your paperwork gets filed in the court with probate jurisdiction in the county where you son will be living. If your county has a bar association, call for a referral.
