Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

What does a legal separation protect you from financially in case the other mate has alot of debt in their name? Is the other mate still responsible? What if there is a child involved, is there anything legal regarding them in a separation?

Debt what you borrowed during the marriage, as well as debt made by you after the brake up of marriage what ever other debt, what so ever the case may be since it is separate debt the court cant force other spouse to pay the same. once you get the legal separation from the court your not bound to pay any of his loans and you are also not responsible for any of his financial matters. . in case of child you have not mention the age of the child so please inform the age

Please ignore the above posting, as it appears to relate to India, not Indiana. You need to sit down with an attorney in your community; your question calls for more response than can be given in this forum.

Good luck.
