Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana
I live in Indiana and less then a year ago I had to sign my rights away on my daughter. Her mom would not let me see her and so I took her to court for visitation and the judge gave me visitation but she never showed up and then when we went back to court she had filed for adoption of her. She and her boyfriend got married and now wanted custody. My lawyer told me that if I went to court to contest I would lose because I had not seen her in years, even though I was paying support. So I signed my rights off. Now I have found out that she is living in a emotional and physically abusive home. A relative of hers has told me that she wanted to meet me but her mom told her I was a dead beat and that I didnt want her. Now I dont know what to do or even if I can do anything. I never wanted to sign off, but I also didnt know she was living in that type of environment.

Call child protective services and let them investigate. You have no standing to do more.
Jay is correct. You have no legal rights. You gave them up. However as a citizen aware of abuse, you can certainly contact CPS
