Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana
If I live in a different state than my child and want to retain a lawyer, do I need to make sure it is a lawyer from the state that the child is registered in? Or can I retain a lawyer from my state of residence now?

Assuming no existing litigation or court orders, go to the state where the child is. If that assumption is not true, talk to a local lawyer, share more of the facts, and take their guidance.
