Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

I have lost my marriage certificate and the court in which the county I married in, is telling me they do not have it on file. I divorced this same person and have a divorce decree. The justice of peasce who married us, is no longer alive. The courhouse keeps tellling me it is not there. I even checked with the state. I need this marriage certrificate to prove all name changes, and without itI will lose my liscense in just a few days. Can anyone help, PLEASE!!! I know we had to and i remember getting the marriage certificate, or we would have never been able to get married!

Do you have a receipt or proof of payment such as a cancelled check? That may help you.

I am not sure what you mean that you need to have this to prove name changes? Worst comes to worst is that you petition for a name change and have someone drive you for a few weeks.
