I need help figuring out what IC 31-11-2-1 Necessity of consent to marry Sec. 1 mean put it simpler word that i can understand.

Thank you for your question. If a person is under 18 years of age, and unless there is an exception as stated elsewhere in the Indiana Code the person under 18 must obtain the consent of his or her parent(s) or legal guardian.
