Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

I have been married only a year and my husband wants a divorce. He's asked me to leave the home we live in because he has owned it before we were married. However it was a dump when we moved in and I have put about $15 thousand in renovations in. I'm a contractor.

Can I get compensation for the work done to the home in the divorce?

You can share in the value added due to your work. As you know as a contractor, expense of renovation does not have a dollar to dollar return in improvement of value to a home. You need to sit down with a family law attorney who can answer this question more fully and in relation to the rest of your debts and assets.
